the past been quoted in local dollars,

it has been the practice for purposes of

leave salaries and pension paid in the

Unitew Kingdom paying salaries when on leave or on pensions

precedent should be followed and that leave

pay and pensions should be converted into

sterling at the rate of 1/3. As you a e

aware, this is the rate which Sloss employed

for converting sterling salaries into

dollars for the purposes of his report and

portberrate at which the Hong Kong Government

has in the past paid sterling salaries

locally.
